Be genuine

Profiles must be real. Impersonation, fake information, and deceptive behaviour will result in permanent removal.

Be respectful

Treat every member with dignity. Harassment, hate speech, and unsolicited contact are strictly prohibited.

Matrimony only

This platform exists for genuine matrimonial intent. Solicitation, spam, and commercial use outside our broker programme are not allowed.

01Acceptance of terms

By registering an account, accessing, or using Christian Matrimony (the “Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”), our Privacy Policy, and our Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

These Terms constitute a binding legal agreement between you and the operator of this Platform (“we”, “us”, “our”). They apply to the website at christian-matrimony.com, our iOS app, and our Android app.

02Eligibility

To use the Platform you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Be legally capable of entering into a binding contract under Indian law.
  • Have genuine matrimonial intent — the Platform is for those seeking a life partner, not casual dating or friendship.
  • You may not register if you are currently married, unless you are a widower or hold a valid divorce decree.
  • You may not register on behalf of another person without their explicit written consent (see Section 7 — Brokers).
  • You may not use the Platform if you have been previously permanently banned by us.

03Your account

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You must:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering.
  • Keep your password confidential and not share it with anyone.
  • Notify us immediately at support@christian-matrimony.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
  • Ensure your account email address remains valid — we use it for critical security and service communications.
  • Not create more than one account per person. Duplicate accounts may be suspended without notice.
We may verify your identity at any point. Providing false details during registration or verification is grounds for immediate permanent termination.

04Acceptable use

The Platform exists to help genuine members find a life partner. The following are strictly prohibited:

  • Creating a false identity, impersonating any person or entity, or misrepresenting your affiliation with any person.
  • Posting or transmitting content that is abusive, defamatory, harassing, obscene, sexually explicit, or threatening.
  • Soliciting money, gifts, financial information, or any form of payment from other members.
  • Using the Platform to promote products or services, distribute spam, or conduct any commercial activity outside the authorised broker programme.
  • Scraping, crawling, or extracting data from the Platform by automated means without our express written permission.
  • Attempting to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform, other user accounts, or our server infrastructure.
  • Uploading or sharing content that infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party.
  • Using the Platform in a way that violates any applicable law, including the Indian Penal Code, the IT Act 2000, the DPDP Act 2023, or the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act.
  • Circumventing or attempting to circumvent any technical measures we have put in place to protect the Platform or its users.
  • Sharing another member's personal contact details (phone number, email, address) obtained through the Platform with any third party without that member's explicit consent.
Consequences: Violations may result in immediate content removal, account suspension, permanent termination, and/or referral to law enforcement. We reserve the right to take any or all of these actions at our sole discretion.

05Profiles & content

Your content, your responsibility. You retain ownership of the content you upload (photos, bio, preferences). By posting content on the Platform, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, display, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating the Platform.

Profile accuracy
  • All information on your profile must be accurate and up to date.
  • Profile photos must be recent, clearly show your face, and must not include other individuals without their consent.
  • You must promptly update your profile if your circumstances change (e.g. marital status, denomination).
Content standards
  • Photos may not be digitally altered in a misleading way.
  • Bio and description fields must not contain contact information (phone, email, social handles) — use the interest system instead.
  • Content referencing caste in a discriminatory manner is prohibited.
Profile visibility
  • Only LIVE profiles are visible in search. Profiles in DRAFT or PENDING status are not shown to other members.
  • You may hide or archive your profile at any time from your profile settings.
  • Suspended profiles are not visible and cannot send interests.
Our moderation rights
  • We may remove any content that violates these Terms without prior notice.
  • We may decline to approve a profile at our discretion, with or without explanation.
  • Approved profiles may be retrospectively suspended if new information comes to light.

06Verification

The Platform operates a five-level trust framework (L1–L5). Higher verification levels increase your profile’s trust score and visibility in search results.

LevelWhat is verifiedHowPoints
L1Email addressOne-time code sent to your inbox+10
L2Phone numberSMS OTP+20
L3Church referencePastor confirms via email or letter; 7-day SLA+30
L4Government IDAadhaar or equivalent document reviewed by our trust team+25
L5Video selfieShort video clip reviewed by our trust team+10
Verification increases trust — it does not constitute a guarantee of the accuracy of any information on a member’s profile. You remain responsible for conducting your own due diligence when engaging with any match.
  • Submitting false or doctored verification documents is fraud and may be reported to law enforcement.
  • Trust points and verification levels are associated with your account and are not transferable.
  • We reserve the right to re-verify or remove a verification level at any time if we have reason to doubt its validity.

07Broker relationships

A broker is an authorised individual or agency who manages matrimonial profiles on behalf of candidates. Brokers must complete KYC verification and are subject to additional terms.

Broker obligations
  • Obtain explicit written or digital consent from every candidate whose profile you register.
  • Ensure all profile information is accurate and kept up to date.
  • Never solicit direct payments from candidates' matches outside the Platform.
  • Complete KYC verification before any managed profiles are made visible.
Candidate consent
  • When a broker registers a non-self profile, the candidate receives a consent email.
  • The profile remains hidden until consent is accepted.
  • Candidates may withdraw consent and archive their profile at any time.
  • Revoked consent removes broker access immediately.
Commissions
  • Brokers earn a commission per successful match as set out in the broker agreement.
  • Commission rates are configured by the platform administrator.
  • Disputes over commissions must be raised within 30 days of the match.
  • We act as a record-keeper only — actual payout logistics are managed separately.
Broker conduct
  • Bulk spam-interest campaigns are prohibited.
  • Brokers must not share candidate contact details with third parties.
  • Any behaviour that harms candidate dignity or safety is grounds for permanent ban.
  • We may audit broker activity at any time.

08Subscriptions & billing

Some features require a paid subscription. Free tier members can send up to 5 interests per month; premium tiers unlock additional features as described on the pricing page.

Billing

Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. By providing payment details, you authorise us to charge the applicable fee at the start of each billing period.

Auto-renewal

Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time from your account settings.

Refunds

We offer a 7-day refund window from the date of purchase for new subscriptions. No refunds are issued for renewals or partial months. Refund requests must be submitted to support@christian-matrimony.com with your order reference.

Price changes

We may change subscription prices on 30 days' written notice. If you do not agree to the new price, you may cancel before the change takes effect; continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

Past-due accounts

If a payment fails, we will retry three times over 14 days. During this grace period your features remain active. After 14 days, premium features are suspended until payment is received.

09Intellectual property

The Platform and its original content (excluding user-generated content) — including but not limited to software, design, logos, trademarks, and text — are owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Platform, nor reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source code, unless laws prohibit these restrictions or you have our written permission.

Your content: You retain all rights to the content you upload. The licence you grant us (see Section 5) is limited to operating and promoting the Platform and terminates when you delete your account or the specific content, except where retention is required by law.

10Third-party links & services

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or integrate third-party services (e.g. payment processors, KYC providers, map services). We do not control and are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or reliability of any third-party service.

Your use of any third-party service is governed by that service’s own terms. We encourage you to read them before providing any personal information to a third party.

11Disclaimers

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to:

  • Merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
  • The accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any profile, content, or information on the Platform.
  • That the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses.
  • That any match or introduction will result in a successful relationship or marriage.
  • The conduct, identity, or intentions of any member you interact with through the Platform.
Important: We verify identity — we do not verify character, intentions, or compatibility. You are solely responsible for evaluating any person you choose to contact or meet through the Platform. Always exercise caution when meeting someone for the first time.

12Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to these Terms or your use of the Platform will not exceed the greater of:

Subscribers

The total amount you paid us in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Free users

INR 1,000 (one thousand Indian rupees).

In no event will we be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

13Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Christian Matrimony and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with:

  • Your access to or use of the Platform.
  • Your violation of these Terms.
  • Any content you post, upload, or transmit on the Platform.
  • Your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property or privacy rights.
  • Any claim that your content caused damage to a third party.

14Termination

By you

You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. Upon deletion, your profile is removed from search immediately. A 30-day recovery window applies before data is permanently erased. Subscriptions are not prorated on voluntary deletion.

By us

We may suspend or permanently terminate your account immediately, without notice, if we determine you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent activity, or pose a risk to the safety of other members or the Platform. We will not refund any prepaid subscription fees in cases of termination for cause.

Effect of termination

Upon termination: your licence to use the Platform ceases; your profile is removed from visibility; your messages become inaccessible to the other party. Sections 9, 11, 12, 13, and 15 survive termination.

Appeals

If you believe your account was terminated in error, you may appeal within 30 days by emailing legal@christian-matrimony.com. We will review and respond within 14 business days. Our decision on appeal is final.

15Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, with jurisdiction specifically in the courts of Hyderabad, Telangana.

Before initiating formal proceedings, both parties agree to attempt to resolve any dispute through good-faith negotiation for a period of 30 days. If unresolved, disputes will be referred to binding arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996. The arbitration will be conducted in English, seated in Hyderabad.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, either party may seek emergency injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent irreparable harm.

For EU / UK residents: Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the law of your country of residence. Where mandatory local consumer protection law applies, it takes precedence over any conflicting term here.

16Changes to these terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. For material changes, we will provide at least 14 days’ notice by email and an in-platform banner before the new terms take effect.

The “last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent version. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you must delete your account before the effective date.
